Having received its security clearance in October 2014, Constellation Aviation Services proceeded to recruit the remaining Post Holders required for AOC application. Stephen McAteer was recruited as Head of Maintenance and Engineering to help restructure the maintenance department and bring CAMO (Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization) in house, whilst at the same time setting up the UAE AMO (Approved Maintenance Organization).
The official pre-application meeting with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority took place on 4th February 2015. Nine months later, during the Dubai Air Show, Constellation Aviation Services was awarded its UAE AOC. During this time, the company secured a larger facility at its main base of operations in Dubai World Centre.
The Post Holder team was completed with the recruitment of Daniel Sullivan, as Head of Quality. The company’s Airbus 318 was transferred onto the UAE registration as A6-CAS following a C-Check in Toulouse. The GCAA joined the aircraft in Toulouse and accompanied the team to Dubai on a proving flight to award the AOC on the 11th November 2015.
